Apayao rolled out the welcome mat for delegates attending the CARASUC Athletic Meet with a fellowship night dubbed as “Panaglalabbet,” held earlier this evening, April 29.
Held at the EKB Gymnasium in San Isidro Luna, the event buzzed with excitement as participants from across the Cordillera region gathered in an evening of anticipation ahead of the sports and cultural showdown beginning tomorrow, April 30.
From cultural performances to icebreaker dances led by the selected Performing Arts Club Members of Apayao State College (ASC), the night fostered connections and unity, echoing the spirit of sportsmanship.
Host municipality, Luna Mayor Josephine M. Bangsil, in her message to open the event said “Iyabrasa mi ti panangpasangbay mi kas kabara iti panawen.”
Bangsil also urged everyone to be guided by the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and solidarity, to which Vice-Governor Remy N. Albano seconded during his talk on the program’s later part.
Apayao State College President John N. Cabansag for his part advised athletes to take precaution against the challenging heat index that may persist over the weeklong event.
Pudtol Mayor Hector Reuel D. Pascua meanwhile emphasized the importance of teamwork and mutual respect in the upcoming athletic competitions, highlighting the opportunity for athletes to forge lasting friendships beyond the confines of the sports arena, saying that life’s boring without sports. “It is our pride to host such a prestigious event. Apayao Ipasindayaw, One Cordillera!”
Also present during the event were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member McLeen B. Julian and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Hanz Gerald Palacay
